BIOGRAPHY

Donna DeMari is an American born photographer who began her career at the age of nineteen in Milan, Italy.

Inspired by Sarah Moon and encouraged first hand by Toscani to shoot fashion, DeMari spent fifteen years living and working between Paris, Milan and London. During that time her work appeared in editorials for French Marie Claire, British Elle, Italian Vogue, L'Officiel, German Vogue and Australian Vogue, as well as many other publications.

She has photographed well known persons , such as Kate Moss, Tyra Banks, Kylie Bax, Jasmine Ghuery, Talito Soto, Claire Forlani,
Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Helena Christenson.

Returning to New York, DeMari became the first woman to shoot the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 1996 and 1997.

She turned her focus at that time to her collection of horse photographs, exhibiting throughout the northeast. This body of work is presently represented by the Staley Wise Gallery in New York City.

In addition, DeMari published four books of photographs. These include "Holy Personal", "Sparks", "Eros and Equus", and "Heartbeat for Horses".

She presently lives in New York and has returned to shooting fashion. Her clients include Neiman Marcus, WWD Intimates and Natori advertising, among others.
